The DASS returned with renewed enthusiasm at the New Academic Practitioners' Programme (NAPP) for the second consecutive year. The DASS provided a session on the "Know Your Course / Students" (KYCS) reports on February 8, 2024, which presented an excellent opportunity for the DASS to share its progress and engage with the new enthusiastic lecturers at UCT. By utilising data analytics, the DASS facilitates better decision-making for improved student outcomes and intervention planning. The KYCS session focused on equipping new academics with tools to understand their students' needs better and address the achievement gap effectively, ensuring equity and creating an environment conducive to student success.

The inclusion of the KYCS session in the NAPP curriculum emphasises the importance of data analytics in modern higher education. This collaboration is part of an ongoing effort to enhance educational outcomes through innovative and inclusive practices, promoting sustainable student success and staying at the forefront of data analytics in education. This serves as a testament to the DASS's commitment to supporting UCT's Vision 2030 of creating a data-driven culture that fosters academic excellence, transformation, and sustainability. The DASS hopes to gain valuable insights into student learning patterns, preferences, and areas of improvement by harnessing the power of data analytics through collaborative efforts.

In 2024, the DASS plans to retain a strategy of conducting interactive personalised sessions with faculties to help initiate collaborations amongst different groups. This approach will allow for the development of customised interventions and personalised experiences on the use of data analytics for student success.
